I like to write. I used to be a humor columnist for my college newspaper and the editor of the school's comedy magazine. In my spare time I write short stories. I've finished seven (around 4000 words each, give or take 1000) and am working on an eighth.

I studied abroad in Mexico City my junior year of college and it changed my life. I saw some crazy shit and met some great people with whom I still keep in touch. Ask me about the time I saw two dogs having sex right in the middle of the highway, as cars honked all around them, or about my History of Mexican Politics professor, who would chain-smoke four cigarettes during class and ash on the floor.

When I am feeling stressed out, or just full of bottled-up energy, one of my favorite activities is to go up onto the roof at night with the iPod (UPDATE: my iPod was stolen in Madrid, see "What I'm doing with my life" below) playing Daft Punk, turned all the way up, and just dance like hell. There is a reason I only do this late at night: if people saw me, they would think I was crazy =-).

Favorite forms of exercise, besides roof-dancing: running, biking, Ultimate Frisbee (I played on a team, every Monday) and hiking. Recently, due to knee problems, I've been swimming.

Contrary to what my screen name might suggest, I have not won any body building competitions in the recent past... Although I often aspire to lift heavy objects (perhaps in another life), I spend most of my time thinking about the physics of the early universe. Given that there is now a sitcom about my life (since I am only physicist studying "The Big Bang Theory" at the institution this show is purportedly about), this summary should in theory be easy. I can begin by telling you that I am not a mad scientist bent on destruction, nor do I fit into my sitcom stereotype. I am a scientist because I have always loved to learn about the world around me. Well I just turned 31 this past summer, and am slowly adjusting to the new decade bracket. :) But you're here for my info. So here goes, the basics.. I'm 5'11. Brown hair, Brown eyes. That being said, let me share a little more about myself.

I live life day by day--but that's not to say I don't plan. I'm just rediscovering spontaneity. I love music (latest craze is checking out all the little jazz/blues venues I can around my area), the outdoors, things that keep me active and engaged (dining out, performing arts, sports, working out). I am quiet except when I am not which is most of the time. I think. I question. I listen to what you do and do not say. I love the new and appreciate what has passed into time.

I like conversation and engagement of thoughts. Not many people do and I understand that. I respect diversity of thought but if you are a extremists politically on either polarity I don't think it would work out.

I'm just a person. I have faults and gifts and stories to tell. I'm still not between 18-45 years of age but I hold memories and abilities.

It would be nice to have a cup of tea and talk. You can have coffee, I don't like the stuff. It would be nice to talk without fear or expectations. It might be that the hardest thing a person can do is sit across from another and be present and authentic.

I am always willing to try something new. I love going out and living life and so should you. My flaws include: I am a Red Sox & Celtics fan. If you are able to look past my flaws and if my dog likes you, you're okay in my book ;)

I'm a laid back, mellow guy. I like spending my time hanging at the beach, going to concerts, watching movies, etc...
I also love spending time with my dog.

Feelings I miss and want to have again:
1. Hitting the open road on a trip for an undetermined amount of time.
2. Snowboarding all day and being freezing cold, taking a hot shower and curling up by the fire.
3. Discovering a new, amazing song that just fits me and my life.
4. Laughing so hard it hurts.

I like playing the guitar and I am in a band., I love music, anything from " Metal, classic rock, 80's music, Folk, Rockabilly, Psycho Billy, and Movie scores.

My passions in life are first centered around God, family, friends and relationships in general. I'm a pretty relaxed guy, but I'm passionate about the things I think are important in life. I'm big into music, especially jazz; I recycle/bike/etc., though I haven't gone off the hippie deep end (I still rank seeing Tila Tequila at the airport as the indisputable high point of my time in LA. As you can see, things didn't quite work out...) Enjoying the LA sunshine is a big pursuit, whether running, hiking, hanging at the beach, what-have-you. I spend a lot of time in school these days, but I'm not letting my time pass without enjoying the metropolis! Cooking and eating real food, finding quirky spots around town, driving out to the middle of nowhere and enjoying good music all fall under my idea of a good time.
